Mark your calendars. The Dulles Greenway is going to see fewer cars on Saturday, May 1 when a westbound portion of the road in Loudoun County closes for a charity footrace. It’s the inaugural “Run the Greenway” event, and racers will be running down the highway.

The Dulles Greenway, also known as Route 267, will be closed from State Road 28 to Route 772 (Exit 6 at Ashburn Village Boulevard). The roadway will remain open for eastbound travel. The closures will be in effect from 3 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m.

Drivers heading west on 267 who encounter the closed roads are asked to go north and take Waxpool Road or Route 7 to avoid the closed road. Drivers are also warned to expect delays in the area during the race.
Entry fee for the 5k is $35. $58 if you run during rush hour.
